Partners Hedy Eckert and Paula Gluch started Grrs and Purrs, Inc. because of their own love for animals. Hedy and Paula are animal lovers and both ladies have pets of their own. It was through their own experiences in nurturing and caring for each of their pets that they decided an upscale pet boutique was just what DeLand needed. The Pet Emporium was a hit with local pet owners right away! Customers flocked in to see the wide variety of unique items they could now get for their pet locally. Grrs and Purrs did so well that they outgrew their original location, and in February of 2007 they moved the store to a new location right on the Boulevard in Historic Downtown DeLand. Complete grooming services have also been added. Grrs and Purrs is now located at 116 N Woodland Blvd. DeLand, FL.
